The Time Machine - Kinetic Display Clock
January 4th, 2007The Time Machine is fascinating. Somewhere between an abacus, kerplunk, a newton’s cradle and an executive toy, the Time Machine is actually a kinetic display clock. The clock works by releasing a series of chrome balls at timed intervals, which move through the machine until they fall into a series of slots. By viewing the last ball bearing in each line, you can calculate the time in hours, minutes and seconds with as much accuracy as your own watch. This is not only a clock but also a wonderful stress reliever. Powered by four C size batteries, the clock must be situated on a flat surface for optimum working, and 3 extra balls are included as spares.
