As co-developers of the Blu-ray next gen format, it was about time that Sony and Philips “offically” announced their Blu-ray disc players. However, they are still being cagey with the deets. Sony can only tell us that they plan to start offering a Blu-ray DVD player “this summer” while Philips, on the other hand, showed us a picture (above) but wouldn’t commit to a date beyond second half of 2006.
