TV on the go with the DVB-T Volar

April 30th, 2006

With the World Cup rapidly approaching, it might be as well to have a TV to hand when you’re out and about. Or something that can convert your laptop to a TV - like this AVerTV DVB-T Volar, a pocket-sized gadget that’ll give you digital terrestrial TV on the go.

The DVB-T Volar weighs just 17.5g, measures 7cm x 2.5cm x 1.1cm and has plug-and play connectivity via USB. It supports Linux and is compatible with Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) 2005 and the forthcoming Windows Vista operating system, as well as being HDTV ready. Its software, ‘AVerTV 6′, offers all the usual viewing and recording functionality, plus Digital Teletext Support (MHEG 5), Video Quality Enhancement, PIP/POP and Widescreen mode - handy for TV viewing on the latest Widescreen LCD monitors and notebooks.
