Microsoft Offers Mozilla Access to Vista Developers

August 30th, 2006

Maybe Microsoft are keeping away from situations that could turn into more anti-trust problems, but they do seem to have been offering the hand of friendship to rival software manufacturers of late. They’ll be working with Google next… (well, OK). This time, they’ve offered Mozilla spaces at Microsoft’s Windows Vista Readiness ISV Lab, a four day event that gives access to Vista developers. In the past the company has only invited commercial software developers to these labs, said Sam Ramji of MS’s open source software lab. It sounds like Microsoft are becoming open to casting the net than just the commercial developers, even to those who are eating away at Internet Explorer’s market share. Firefox currently has 14% of the browser share compared to Internet Explorer’s 76%.
