Dyson Airblade Super Hand Dryer

October 19th, 2006

The Dyson Airblade dries hands twice as fast as traditional hand dryers, but uses 83% less energy. The Dyson Digital Motor (DDM) produces an air stream flowing at 400mph. This unheated air is channeled through a 0.3 millimetre gap, no thicker than an eyelash. James Dyson: “Instead of painfully slow evaporation, Dyson Airblade(tm) creates a high speed sheet of air, the “blade”, which gently squeegees your hands dry. It’s very quick and it’s very clean.” They say that damp hands are 1,000 times more likely to cross contaminate than dry hands. And that is why the Airblade can completely dry your hands in under 10 seconds. The Airblade will be sold for £549 ($1,028 USD).
