I-O Data of Japan launched its new HDMC rugged USB hard drive that is tough as you can get. Available in 8GB and 12GB capaciities, the USB hard drive is rugged enough to withstand drops from 48-inches and remain submerged in water for 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter. To eliminate clutter, the USB connector can be stored inside a rubber material that wraps around the drive. The 8GB will sell for 15,700 Yen ($136 US) and the 12GB will sell for 21,000 Yen ($182 US).
