Direct Take goes premium, perfects synchronized multi-channel video recording use case

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - March 11, 2015 - Medialooks today has announced a premium version of its multi-channel video capture application, Direct Take.

With the recent updates, Medialooks has clearly positioned Direct Take for the professional multi-channel ingest scenario, providing videographers with a way to synchronously capture multiple video channels in live production environments.

The new Direct Take features single-click start of capture, configurable multi-channel capture templates, GPU-powered H.264 encoding and simultaneous recording of several versions of the same stream. The improved multiview allows to control each capture channel directly within the multiviewer. Flexible audio mapping allows to choose an audio source individually for each of the recording channels. More features - such as RS-422 support or writing files with 2 or more audio programs - are on the roadmap for future versions.

"We have received a lot of feedback upon launching this product," - says Andrey Okunev, Medialooks CEO. - "Users enjoyed the multi-channel flexibility and the choice of supported formats. Direct Take, as we've been told by our first users, is a great solution for multi-channel capture. But its built-in playback features, such as frame-by-frame playback and playback while recording, make it awesome for quality monitoring as well."

The product will be licensed on a per channel basis, at $500 per channel. A discount policy for multiple channels is in place: 6 channels will run into $2750 (instead of $3000) and 8 channels can be licensed for $3650. Medialooks is currently having conversations with resellers in order for the product to be instantly available around the globe. A marketing leaflet is available for download from the company's web site.

Medialooks, founded in 2005, provides broadcast customers with software development kits to quickly build multimedia applications for playout automation, virtual studios, and multi-channel video capture.
