IBC2018, Amsterdam, Netherlands—September 14, 2018—Medialooks today announced free software converters that allow video engineers to publish SDI streams via NDI or convert NDI streams to SDI. The new applications will be shown at IBC2018 in Amsterdam, where Medialooks will exhibit at stand 3.B39.
Both tools have been developed with MFormats SDK, a professional frame-based video development kit. KonigLabs, a software development partner, has been instrumental in bringing the new products to life—allowing the Medialooks team to focus on its core product.
“Medialooks has been an early adopter of NewTek’s NDI technology and has made it extremely easy for customers to leverage it in products built on top of Medialooks’ software development kits,” said Andrey Okunev, CEO at Medialooks. “We are proud to be part of this exciting movement and believe that the new tools fit perfectly into our software ecosystem — adding even more flexibility to our solution to effectively transport NDI streams over the public Internet. We are also happy that both tools have been developed by a local partner, who have proven they are equipped with skills for building end-user apps on time and on budget and have confirmed that our software development kits allow companies to create working software in a matter of days.”
“With this tool, MediaLooks aim to help bridge the gap between SDI workflows and IP based ones which remains a crucial part of the transition to IP based video transport and workflows”, said Dr. Andrew Cross, President and CTO of NewTek and architect of NDI. “Our goal has always been making IP based video easy and affordable to all users. Applications like this one are incredible for us to see and clearly align with what we are doing with NDI.”
The software currently supports SDI hardware by Blackmagic Design and AJA.
Medialooks will exhibit its software solutions at IBC2018 in Amsterdam at booth 3.B39.

NDI is in use on millions of devices and allows multiple video systems to identify and communicate with one another over IP. NDI can encode, transmit and receive many streams of high quality, low latency, frame-accurate video and audio in real time. This benefits any network-connected video device, including video mixers, graphics systems, capture cards, and many other production devices. This makes it possible to exponentially increase the number of sources available for live production switching, without directly attaching to devices, changing locations, or investing in expensive, high-bandwidth networks that simply replace SDI-based workflows. #NDIcentral
